Wasim Akram Raises Concerns Regarding Fakhar Zaman's Performance

Former Pakistan captain Wasim Akram has voiced concerns over the prolonged struggle with form faced by Pakistan batsman Fakhar Zaman over the past month and a half. Akram, speaking on a local news channel, noted that he closely observed Zaman's performance during the Lanka Premier League (LPL) 2023, where the left-handed opener consistently faced difficulties.

"Fakhar Zaman has been grappling with poor form for the past month and a half. He also faced challenges during his stint in the LPL," Akram commented.

Akram emphasized the need for Fakhar Zaman to dedicate time to refining his cricketing technique and focusing on the fundamentals to regain his lost form. Furthermore, he stressed the significance of returning to the basics and spending quality time in the middle, middling the ball before attempting extravagant shots.

"When you find yourself out of form, the path to improvement lies in working diligently on your technique and fundamentals. It's crucial to spend time in the middle, finding your rhythm before attempting big shots. Rushing to attack the bowling straight away might not yield the desired results, and I believe this is the issue with Fakhar Zaman," Akram concluded.

Fakhar Zaman, known for his explosive batting style and past contributions to Pakistan cricket, faces the challenge of rediscovering his form. In a recent World Cup warm-up match against Australia, the left-handed opener managed to score only 22 runs off 24 balls, intensifying concerns about his performance.

As Pakistan gears up for the World Cup, the team and fans alike will be watching closely to see if Fakhar Zaman can overcome his struggles and regain his batting prowess. Pakistan's World Cup campaign begins against the Netherlands on October 6th in Hyderabad.
