Misbah-ul-Haq Clarifies World Cup Squad Selection and Central Contracts Decisions


Former Pakistan cricket captain and head of the PCB Cricket Committee, Misbah-ul-Haq, has voiced his worries about not being involved in critical decisions, particularly in relation to the ICC World Cup 2023 squad selection and the determination of central contracts. Misbah made these statements during a media interaction in Karachi, highlighting his concerns about decisions being made without his input.

Speaking about the central contract decisions, Misbah stated, "I also have concerns about this. They decided previously with the team management. We also can't understand this decision and there is no input from us."

Furthermore, Misbah expressed reservations about the central contract selections, emphasizing that his input was not considered in the process. He argued for a more comprehensive approach, suggesting that key players in specific formats should be placed in the top category of the central contract list.

In his remarks, Misbah clarified that the responsibility for team composition rests with the selection committee and management. He also noted that the PCB chairman has provided full support, redirecting inquiries to them for further clarification.
